ROFL, best quip on BD for over 5 years!

As a qualified economist I can tell you that your theory holds water and
your terminology is correct
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equilibrium_price).

All the muppets complaining about price have been told season after
season they can bid for Tours - but they don't. Adam is thus FULLY
deserving of the leopardskin seat covers, waxing treatments and other
Welsh Chav accessories he will spend his profit on.

Stevie G made a very valid point that the UKUA should get some of the
profit since the tournaments are run under their brand (and probably
with some of their equipment). Either a flat £20 per team would seem a
fair ballpark figure or you could look at the books and take 25% tax on
profit (although this would cause admin hassle and encourage
overstatement of costs).

See you around

Subject: Re: [BD] Fw: Tour 0 - The Price

It must be that time of year again when we have our annual tournament
pricing debate.

Many people may object, but have any teams ever pulled out or not
entered a tour event because of the price?

If not then the market rate (I think it's called the equilibrium price -
any economists out there?) has not been reached and tournament directors
can quite happily increase their charges secure in the knowledge that
their customers (ultimate teams) will still buy their product. I reckon
that you would probably still fill £300+ open tour events.

Sadly this would still not be enough to price those damned hippies out
of the game! ;-)
