Another year, more discussions about the cost of playing our sport!

This isnt an email about money.

Instead, i'm just hoping someone can tell me why we are running a seeding event so early in the year? If it was the decision to have Tour 0 to decide on seedings for Tour 1 then surely it would be sensible to have it at a date when teams are gearing up for the season? If it is a UKUA event (as i'm guessing it is for seedings to be decided) why isn't it part of the open calender and in the same part of the season? And if there wasn't space in the calender to have it near the rest of the open tour why are we running it as a seeding event? I understand that it is desgined to give new teams a chance to play Tour A straight off. But surely teams don't plan to play just one season and break up.

I feel by telling teams that if they don't turn up to this event they start at the bottom of Tour B is forcing teams to turn up and play in an event they might not be ready for.

I am not acusing anyone of doing anything wrong, i just really want to know why the open season starts, then stops for the mixed season, then starts again.
If there wasn't the time this year in the calender, why are we doing it?

Just looking for some answers, hoping someone can reply and let me know.

Cheers

Nick
