May I ask why? One of the joys as a home brewer is that such details do not have to matter so much. If you have to use 4.5kg of malt instead of 4.0, so bloody what? Compared to the start-up costs, a few kroner for a handful of malt makes no difference at all. It is so easy to calculate fine numbers and focus on them, and forget to enjoy the taste of the beer! Some numbers can tell something about the beer (bitterness, colour), but the mash efficiency must be one of the least important! Its only importance is when you calculate new receipies, and want to know how much malt to use. For that purpose a low but steady number is much easier to handle than a high but variable number! Relax, don't worry, have a homebrew! - Heikki -- Heikki Levanto heikki at indexdata dot dk "In Murphy We Turst"
