I don't think it's useful to cut off all the basic communication paths. 
  What if you're faced with moving data from some other system which has 
an ftp client but not a server?  Yeah, you might have a repository you 
can reach, but I don't think the cost justifies it; it's 180K or so.

I'll go along with that; I don't presently have a use case which demands 
NFS service.

At 250K, I look at this the same way as ftp or telnet (see other mail).
