Like Nate said, this is all doable, it's just about finding available time + available ability in the same person to do it. If you think that's you, email gwoo or nate and offer to help. If there's a way they can add your time + ability to the cookbook project, I'm sure they'd do it. The bakery app has a "my account" section which lists the comments/ articles that the person's involved in. Again, as Nate and others have said, it's all there waiting to be implemented, it just takes time. Resources are spread thin.
