The upgrade is straight forward and simple.  I don't think you need to
change any of the configuration files.  None get overwritten.

What spandsp version you running?  spandsp.0.5.3.pre3 works with
callweaver 1.2.0.1 without any problems with fax.  All other version of
spandsp tested had issues with t.38 fax.  I'm still testing
spandsp.0.5.3.pre12 with callweaver 1.2.1.

For production, we're currently using callweaver 1.2.0.1 with
spandsp.0.5.3.pre3.

If you're still using zaptel, upgrade to dahdi.
