Hear, hear. I have encountered one of the new breed of boat owners* 
saying "I'm not going to put a name on my boat - I don't have one on my 
car, so why should I have one on my boat?"

ISTR Debbie F posting on this list a while back saying that they'd 
dropped the licence evasion hotline because so many of the boats 
reported had a licence but weren't displaying it, and they were 
overwhelmed with the resulting work.

*ie, no previous boating experience, thought he'd give it a go, bought 
a boat off the peg from NBC.
