If the revs fall below the level at which sufficient power is generated 
for the demand then the TP unit cuts out and the washing machine waits 
until the power is at an adequate level again. Been there, done that 
and got the (clean) French T shirt ;-))
We've always managed to do a wash en-route with our Bosch, cold fill, 
washing machine, irrespective of locks etc. Cruising revs on our Beta 
3300 75hp engine are about 1600 - 1800 (but that is not the whole story 
as it depends on pulley ratios of course).
