What about Health and Safelty?...Shirley as the emergency services will now not be able to easily assist a boating tragedy / incident at Lock 87, then BW will have to close the canal? I bet the proposed works will not stop the revellers getting around the lock chamber. If this goes ahead and BW compleatly looses the plot, then there needs to be some "Direct Action". If I was still boating about on the big island of the Celtic Archipelago, then I would only be too pleased to "assist", especially as TNC is now only answerable to itself :-) Intimidating lock keepers and Waterways Ireland management is getting rather tame by our standards. -- Neil Arlidge NB Earnest - Out of it.
