This thread has made me feel so much better about my cantankerous old Huawei E220 and erratic T-mobile connection; at its worst it's never as bad as Arthur's experience :-}} I'm currently getting 0.37 Mb/s down and 0.30 up, which is adequate for my purposes (ie only a little music purchase, and very little YouTube.) It can be much faster, and, of course, sometimes a lot slower.
