When my 15 hp Evinrude died several years ago, I
bought a Nissan 9.9 and modified the cover so that it would pass through the
transom cutout. However, I believe the transom cutout had been enlarged
somewhat prior to my purchase of Blue Heaven, 1972 number 149, back in
1995. I made a wooden frame template of the area within the lazarette and
then decided how I needed to sculpt the cover rear. The bottom line was
that about 1.5" - 2" was removed from the rear corner and then covered with a
piece of Plexiglas.
I was not able to find a motor that would work
without some modification.
Good luck,
Tom Owen
