When my 15 hp Evinrude died several years ago, I bought a Nissan 9.9 and modified the cover so that it would pass through the transom cutout.  However, I believe the transom cutout had been enlarged somewhat prior to my purchase of Blue Heaven, 1972 number 149, back in 1995.  I made a wooden frame template of the area within the lazarette and then decided how I needed to sculpt the cover rear.  The bottom line was that about 1.5" - 2" was removed from the rear corner and then covered with a piece of Plexiglas.   I was not able to find a motor that would work without some modification.   Good luck, Tom Owen ----- Original Message ----- From: James Calleran To: catalina27-talk@memberclicks.com Sent: Saturday, April 22, 2006 7:50 PM Subject: Re: catalina27-talk: Outboard Motor Question I'm in the same, well, boat as Lesley.  My'85 Evinrude 9.9 electric has to be nursed along and the First Mate has no confidence in it.  I'm definitely in the market myself.
