Well, they certainly cost more to buy and much more to repair. If the
latter were not true, they'd be worth their money. I'd like to have a
functioning inboard, ha. I've had my boat for three years now and have
spent $500 on repairs to my outboard in that time.
How the world views things: you cannot charter a boat with an outboard.
My '97 Evinrude 2 cycle is a reliable dinosaur,a bit noisy, reliable
when I don't have water in the line, which is usually, uses twice the
gas that a 4 cycle would, so I carry twice the fuel. In all, a
satisfactory thing, but a 4 cycle would be nice, or one of the new 2
cycles that are quiet and give decent mileage.

Sorry folks, I was kidding. List seemed a bit slow. Obviously inboards
are better, and the turning radius at 25Kts is determined by the truck
your pulling it with (trick question).

Which is better depends on your criteria. For me when I was
looking for a used C27 I looked at too many inboards that were in
need of attention or repair.. I also looked at many inboards that
had been converted t outboard. So, I opted for outboard. Mine
works just foine in forward, but in reverse since I can’t steer
the engine by baking ability seems retarded. I have little
control unless I use the engine to give bursts of power and then
idle and then steer. I am still working on how reverse works best.
As to turning radius at 25kts, I am not sure what you are asking…
are you asking what is the turning radius when the boat is going
25kts? If so the answer is the boat can’t go 25 knots~! If you
are asking in 25 knots of wind… that depends on other conditions
(waves, if you are sailing, etc)
