When Catalina changed the deck design (in the early 80's, I think) they added
the hood. If you look closely you will notice other differences, foredeck
hatch, cockpit hatches, coamings, portlights and many other deck details.

That's what we did. It's strong enough for a 300 pound man to do chinups on
it. We don't need a seahood with the dodger (but of course we're not venturing
out in bad storms.)
