Yep-her mom is Annie Hunt, and her real father is Steve (I came along when
Leslie was about 18). If you follow the YouTube related videos far enough,
you'll see one of her American Idol performances (Natural Woman) and her mom
is the blonde in the audience who looks just like her. But I prefer to
watch a video like "Let Them Go"-can't see her very well, but the singing
is, well, awesome (he said, proudly).

The Star Spangled Banner is a real bear to sing, especially a capela, and
more so when you have delayed sound coming at your ears from the speakers
several hundred feet away. I was impressed, but I'm biased. Glad to hear
you liked it.

OK I'm confused - her last name is Hunt? As in the same Leslie Hunt that
was from Chicago and was on American Idol a few years back (or so my kid
tells me). In any case a great voice and the only time I think I've ever
seen anybody sing the National Anthem in key and with a smile on their face
- she looked like she was having the time of her life.

Congrats

Okay, I apologize; it's only the end of April, and this has nothing to do
with sailing except I do plan to take a clip of this on my boat this summer.

But I'm really proud of this girl, even if her mother and I split up three
years ago. She sang the National Anthem at the Cubs game last night, and
someone got it on video and posted it on YouTube. I'm just an amateur
myself, but I do believe this girl can flat-out SING.

Again, my apologies for being so far off-topic, but it's still kinda winter
here (snowed yesterday) and I think for 24 hours after snowfall you get a
free pass on off-topic postings.
