Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC)
------------

     2/18: 108 TUNDRA SWANS were seen at Knox-Marsellus Marsh. 34 more were at 
the intersection of VanDyne Spoor and Savannah-Spring Lake Roads.
     2/20: 7 ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS were spotted on Carncross Road.


Onondaga County
------------

     2/15: A TURKEY VULTURE was seen in Skaneateles. The behinning of 
migration, 
perhaps?
     2/16: A PEREGRINE FALCON was seen hunting in Oakwood Cemetary in Syracuse.
An early RUSTY BLACKBIRD was spotted in Tully. A COMMON RAVEN was heard at the 
Three rivers WMA north of Baldwinsville. Another was heard the next day. 

     2/17: An EASTERN PHOEBE was seen along the Charlie Major Nature Trail in 
Skaneateles. At this date this bird probably has overwintered. A PURPLE FINCH 
was heard singing in Pompey.
     2/18: Three more TURKEY VULTURES were spotted flying over the Three Rivers 
WMA in Baldwinsville.
     2/19: A COMMON RAVEN was spotted on East Sorrell Hill Road in the Town of 
Van Buren.
     2/20: 40 EVENING GROSBEAKS were on Shakham Road near the Onondaga/Cortland 
County line. Also spotted was a “GREATER” COMMON REDPOLL in with a large group 
of COMMON REDPOLLS.


Oswego County
------------

     2/16: NORTHERN SHRIKES were seen on Spaeth Road and Salisbury Road in the 
Town of Mexico and Town of Richland area. At Oswego Harbor 5 waterfowl species 
including CANVASBACK were seen.
     2/17: A RED-THROATED LOON was found in the Oswego Harbor.
     2/18: 2 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS were seen flying over at Derby Hill. A NORTHERN 
SHRIKE was spotted at the Sage Creek Road and Rt.104B intersection. 

     2/19: 5 species of migrating raptor including a NORTHERN GOSHAWK were seen 
at Derby Hill.
     2/20: A COMMON SNIPE continues near a Brewerton residence.


Madison County
------------

     2/20: A HOARY REDPOLL was found with a group of COMMON REDPOLLS at Dr.Coon 
Lane in DeRuyter. Nearby on Paradise Hill Road 40+ EVENING GROSBEAKS continue 
at 
a feeder.


Jefferson County
------------

     2/20: An attempt to find the TOWNSEND’S SOLITAIRE on Point Peninsula was 
unsuccessful.
