Dude..that statement about the sun was fatuous.

Chernobyl was a Nuclear Power Plant that failed due to an accident. Regardless of the
root cause, the fact is that there was
an accident. And there have been 'near' accidents at several plants around the world,
including in Japan, and the world looks
on with held breaths and crossed fingers.

You obviously cannot defend this point , because there is no defence. The results of a
major failure are absolutely and
completely catastrophic.

You've also failed to respond to the point about decommissioning and taken care of the
resulting nuclear waste.

How can other forms of energy mysteriously become more efficient if they aren't given
the same level of funding as Nuclear
power? Some little fairy in white is going to come along with a magic wand, lift her
frilly little skirt, curtsy and tell
scientists how it's done!???

Ummm....the sun? Now there's an idea: lets pass legislation outlawing the sun.

Actually, Chernobyl was not a problem of nuclear power. It was a problem
made of communism.

I agree. CNN is unlikely to talk about the evils of communism or socialism.

True. Three Mile Island was a pretty big accident. Financially it was a big
disaster. Enviromentally it wasn't too big a deal. Thanks in large part to
the semi-capitalist nature of the TMI venture.

Because those other forms of energy(wind, sun) aren't terribly efficient.
When they become more efficient, we will use them more.
