Well, it is good that you do not have to fear a lawsuit.  It is bad that the
original owner was negligent in allowing the dog to run loose, but even more
negligent to abandon the dog once it got into trouble and was injured.
Pomeranians are a very loyal and one-person type of pet, and If it is adopted
out after healing, it is going to be a long adjustment period to the new owners,
who, I really hope will be the type of owner as you obviously are.

If you know the original owners or their address, it might be good if you
related that information to that Director of Animal Control., since they
obviously were given your name and address by the owners.

Just a thought.

I got a call from the Director of Animal control from the next town
over from me. It seems the owners of the other dog abandoned the
pomeranian at the vet and gave a false name and address. The dog needs
to have his eye repaired but is otherwise ok. She had the dog in her
lap while she was talking to me.
She told me the dog will NOT be released back to the owners.

My dog however has to be quarantined for 10 days. We live in a high
rabies area I guess and the state requires that my dog be quarantined
to make sure he wasn't infected.
