Glad it sort of worked out. You ought to play real nice and give the
owners address to the animal control people and the vet. I am sure
those sleazoids (your neighbours) would love a couple of legal
complaints regarding the vet bill etc.

If they abandon the animal then they deserve all the screwing over they get.
