Teen Jailed Accused of Sexually Assaulting Woman

An update to a story we broke last night.
The 13-year old accused of sexually assaulting an elderly woman has been ordered
by a judge today to stay locked up.
The attack has sent shockwaves through the elderly apartment complex on Barrera,
south of downtown. Warning notices hang around the building, but residents say
“it’s too easy to get in and out here.” An automatic door stays open in the
early morning giving access to anyone walking in.
The Victoria Plaza complex only has a part-time security guard who watches the
building only a few nights a week.
