No.  His actions in the future will be based on his actions in the past.

Now, this could work for Kerry in he could argue that he took a difficult
position back then to go against the war.  Unfortunately, by that time
everyone was against the war, so he might have just been caving in.  Similar
to his quick switch during the campaign from pro-war to anti-war to
Win-The-Peace of the democratic party.
