What school did you get your MBA from? The best CEOs are the ones that know the business, understand that growth takes time and partnerships, and can manage at each stage. That usually means the guys who started the business with one lathe and then grew it into a billion dollar company. It's the ones who don't know how to work the lathe that are failures. Success Examples: Jeff Bezos Jeff Immelt Warren Buffett Steve Jobs Bill Gates Andy Grove These are all guys that either started their business from scratch or were line managers. They understood how to make the numbers, but that growth meant patience and partners. Failure Examples: Jeff Skilling Gary Winnick Louis Borders These are all guys that thought they had a "new paradigm" or that if they built the infrastructure of a billion dollar company, somehow it would work. That is, there are the guys who didn't know the business, didn't have patience, and didn't understand partnership. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Purchase from House of Fusion, a Macromedia Authorized Affiliate and support the CF community. http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=35 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:133424 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
