Those are sports terms! In the interest of education: CAI = cold air intake. More air, especially cooler air, equals more power. Catback = that part of your exhaust system from the cats back. BOV = blow off valve - on your turbo charger to release pressure and keep your turbine from seizing. All of this stuff is to give your car more power which is done simply: more air, preferably colder air, + more fuel + free flowing exhaust = more power. * Cold air intakes and intercoolers help deliver a higher volume of cooler air. Cold air is important because it's more dense, i.e., more oxygen per volume. * Turbos and superchargers pressurize the air which means an even greater volume of air to the combustion chamber. * Larger fuel injectors, fuel rails, and fuel pumps help deliver enough fuel to match your larger air flow. * Hacking the engine's computer helps you to manage these new increased air and fuel flows. * Catbacks, downpipes, etc help keep the exhaust flowing freely. Welcome to the world of tuning! A new sport for you! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Purchase RoboHelp from House of Fusion, a Macromedia Authorized Affiliate and support the CF community. http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=59 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:168795 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
