I just read about something like this in a newspaper advice column. A lady was worried that her marriage in Mexico was not valid in the states. According to the columnist, the US, or at least LA, recognizes Mexican marriage licenses. I suspect a quick call your local vital statistics official office can quickly answer whether or not a Bahamas license is recognized.
