Short version. We had printed the paper, and were about ready to sell, when the Advisor told us that we were not selling this paper.
Essentially it derogatory comments aimed at the school and some staff members. There were crude headlines, and off color remarks throughout the editorial and news sections of the paper. So we wasted some money and had to make it up. We were able to print a lot of the stuff, but it just had to be cleaned up and presented in a less negative manner. If you are wondering about the right to the freedom of the press: Even though we produce the paper by selling ads, the paper is still deemed to be owned by the school, and therefore the school has the final say. The school also has the final say in what publications can be spread on campus. Supreme court cases have upheld this. There were a few instances when we clashed with the administration. Usually we compromised.
