Hmmm,

Yes the DSM-IVR does more than that.

For example, what makes asperger different to Autism is that these people
are still very coherent the difference is that these people have a different
outset than a normal person and the only way to diagnose these conditions
and treat them is with the DSM-IVR test.

In one case I know personally their IQ was around 138, but there verbal IQ
was 108 and because of a difference here and other things the test picks up
there is a high chance of being Autistic, as well as being ADHD.

But the test also picks up if you have and ADD/ADHD behaviours as well,
because they all belong in the spectrum you can't just treat one symptom you
need to identify everything to be able to treat it and live a normal life.

Dana, the way you describe it, means that these people may have more than
one symptom in the spectrum, and are not being treated for that and will
never live a full normal life.

Sorry, I am very close to this subject and have been learning as much about
this in the last 12 months.
