I did not say that they are linked, they both belong in the same spectrum.
But now this is the but :-)

A person can be diagnosed as having ADHD and asperger, and this I know for a
fact.

While I am not an expert, I have not heard of stuff that reliably links
Asperger's to what we consider to be ADHD. It seems to me very different
cognitive and perceptual systems are involved.

Aspergers's syndrome is the near end of a spectrum with classic Autism at
the extreme. Its a problem of perceptual filtering. While ADHD is more of a
problem involving the processing of perceptual information and the output of
those results.
