Yes, look at the bigger picture. The rise of corporations, along with the spread of capitalism and free markets (of which corporations are a product), ushered in an unprecedented century of wealth creation and dissemination. Do corporate big-wigs sometimes lie and cheat in the name of profit? Well, sure, but some people have always lied and cheated in the name of profit. There have always been countervailing forces to check the power of corporations- unions, the media, consumer watchdogs, the government.
