As for whether he possessed it or borrowed it doesn't matter - he shot at my 
neighbour's window. When he was arrested a few minutes later it was obvious he 
was so drunk he could barely stand.

As for that deterrence, what do you mean? So you can have firefights in the 
streets at the drop of a hat? So you can watch innocent bystanders get killed 
all the time? You want to tell that to the parents of a 3 year old that got hit 
by a stray bullet? If little Joey was only exercising his constitutional right 
to carry a firearm this would not have happened. That's complete bullshit.

Arming everyone to the teeth is totally unrealistic. More like a macho wet 
dream than anything else. How many must die to fulfill those fantasies.
