was this recent?  years ago (about 10 years ago) i had directv in AZ,
and did have intermittent problems during monsoon season.

as recently as last year tho, i had it in FL and we got some pretty
good rain/wind storms almost nightly in the summer and never had any
problems with the satellite going out.
