Different types of intelligence need to be measured in different ways. Instead of having a Non-African create the 'intelligence' test for Africans, they should have the African scientists create those tests.
We have had the same type of issues in this country in regards to College entrance exams. They have been built upon the social and culture of one 'type' of upbringing. Where other American 'subcultures' don't have the same concepts in their lives, therefore the questions become non-self explanatory. Hiring should be left to the concepts of: "Do they have a history of 'getting the job done' "Do they have the knowledge and skillset to 'get the job done' for you" When you add race to the equation: You miss out on some of the most effective visionaries of our time. You reduce the enrichment that new and interesting viewpoints can create. You open your company to mass onslaughts of lawsuits. Plus, you show the world that your intelligence resides below those you criticize, as you display your fear. After all, Racism is last ditch effort of an imbecile to blame 'someone else', before they have to realize that it is themselves that are 'lacking'. William -- William E. You're limited by your genes and genes have been used to define a grouping called "race". From there we can move to other genetic groupings: Kentucky Phried Chicken Our Favorite Greasy Snack Hey, speaking of genes and racism, you'll love this: Dr. Watson -- who co-discovered the structure of DNA and thereby helped launch the genetics revolution -- said yesterday that he would no longer serve as the chancellor of the prestigious Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, an institution he has been associated with for more than four decades. The 79-year-old scientist said he would "retire" with immediate effect following an outcry over controversial remarks he recently made in the United Kingdom media about the intelligence levels of blacks. It is an unexpected and ignominious end to one of the most illustrious careers in modern science. Dr. Watson, who shared the Nobel Prize in 1962 with Mr. Crick and Maurice Wilkins for their DNA discovery, recently told Britain's Sunday Times that he was "inherently gloomy about the prospect of Africa" because "all our social policies are based on the fact that their intelligence is the same as ours -- whereas all the testing says not really." http://online.wsj.com/article/SB119331451684871240.html ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Download the latest ColdFusion 8 utilities including Report Builder, plug-ins for Eclipse and Dreamweaver updates. http;//www.adobe.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=labs%5adobecf8%5Fbeta Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/message.cfm/messageid:245316 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5
