Here's his retraction a year later:
"You don't go buying a boat when you can barely pay your mortgage. You
don't blow a bunch of cash on Vegas when you're trying to save for
college."

At least you didn't say you worked a cab for ten years there ala GG.
When the economy was weak after 9/11 Bush said go out and spend money,
and that's what people did.
When the economy was weak under Obama he said don't go out and spend
money, and they didn't. Those comments devestated Vegas. Mainly
because many conventions were canceled right after each statement the
president made. It had a direct impact.
