I never said he convinced everyone.

There are people I know who I believe would line up outside an Apple
store overnight to buy horse manure if Steve Jobs packaged it up
pretty and called it iShit. You obviously are not one of those people,
but that does not mean they do not exist.

I use both Windows 7 and OS X every day. I honestly cannot say there
is anything in OS X I cannot live without, or anything that OS X does
so much better that I can't live without it. My next laptop will not
be an Apple product - because of the previously stated reason, as well
as the fact that I do not like where Apple is headed in terms of third
party software.

Apple tried to change it developer agreement to say that iPod/iPad
apps can only be written with tools made by Apple (XCode) and that any
apps made with other 'packagers' would be rejected. Now, that piece
did not make it into the agreement, but the fact that it was
considered concerns me enough to add to my feelings about giving Apple
anymore of my hard earned money.
