What I like about Ron Paul, and libertarian ideas generally, is the emphasis on liberty, individual rights, and freedom. Human dignity demands that we recognize that we each have these rights. Rights are not the only element of citizenship, though, freedom is not absolute. With rights come responsibilities. In a civil society we have responsibilities to each other, to our communities, to the planet we call home. If we truly want to live in a better world, we should stop fussing and fighting and create a sustainable society, a sustainable planet, a sustainable future. Mother Earth can get along just fine without us, but we can't live without her.
