When did they start telling the entire truth in elementary school?

 - Back then you thought Lincoln started the war to free the slaves.
 - The Mayflower was the first boat to the US.
 - The Indians and the Pilgrims got along great.

In elementary school they give you an overview of what is going on. They
don't tell you the US dropped two bombs on Japan that killed a large
number of people. They tell you the Allies bravely defeated the Axis
Powers. It was the Disney version of everything.

People will always add moral judgments to things. By the time a child is
old enough to understand what is really going on, they will have already
made a judgment based on their parents and their friends.

Talking about it in school won't change that. If a student is told that
it exists, they will come and ask their parents. If the teacher doesn't
show favor one way or another, the parents sure will.

Thus the kid has been influenced, and the cycle continues.

The only time you will get a judgment free explanation is from the
dictionary. After that a curious child has questions, and the answers to
these questions are often based on moral beliefs.
