If being a gay male is biologically determined, then teaching kids about it
will not have any later effect on sexual orientation. The 7 to 14% of the
kids will still be gay while the majority will not, regardless of the
efforts one way or another.

Behavior towards gays is another question. That is determined by the family
and peers. Demonstrate hostility to those different from you and the kid
will do the same. Show tolerance and most likely the kid will be tolerant of
those who are perceived as different.
