That's to defeatist for me...even if it was what I eventually
ended up doing just that, it would be for a good reason...no 4'
midget is mugging me :) The cynical side of me thinks that advice
might even have been started by insurance adjusters.

More meandering...

One piece of advice acquaintance of mine who worked in a dangerous
profession once that made sense, was whenever you walk into a
potentially rough place, think to yourself that you are carrying a
gun, don't swagger or anything, but have a mental image of the gun
somewhere. The people looking for that kind of thing can see it in
your walk...
