I'm getting anywhere around 500-2000 ms for page loads while developing, though it goes down to 0-100 after they compile. I'm just looking for more crispness in response. I don't think that a faster box will speed things up so much that I won't be able to notice differences between two different sets of code.
I could just pop a 933mhz pIII in there for about 80-90$. I'm sure that it would give a minor improvement, but if I'm going to spend that much, I would rather invest a bit more for a more impactful upgrade, even if it's just a single 1.2-1.5ghz chip/mobo. t/ Matt -----Original Message----- From: Harkins,Patrick [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, December 19, 2002 7:40 AM To: CF-Community Subject: RE: OT- low to mid price dev server upgrade I doubt you'll like this suggestion, but the old one sounds like a pretty good box.... What about continuing to use that box so that you can optimize your applications for less than optimal conditions? -Patrick ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?forumid=5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?method=subscribe&forumid=5 Get the mailserver that powers this list at http://www.coolfusion.com Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5
