They do? I have had Xbox Live since it came out and I've had no charges. In
the U.S., the way it works is you pay $50 for the kit and it's good for one
year. After the year, you will start paying the subscription rate which they
have not announced yet. They do have an option where you can download
special items for an additional cost but I have not seen any available yet.

I don't have PS2 but I believe it works the same.

Go for a PS2.

The majority of Gamecube games are made for a younger audience, and XBOX
charges a tax for multiplayer games.

With all the talk about consoles lately, I want to get one. I'm
figuring that no matter which one I get, I'll probably have a good time,
but are there any glaring deficiences that I should lookout for? I am
leaning towards an Xbox at this moment, but I've flip flopped about 20
times in the last 2 hours.
