Beth -
Your question is a non-sequitur. You are asking me to explain
distinctions I have not made, don't know much about and am not sure I
would support. This is akin to asking me why I killed someone who is
alive and standing next to me.
I've explained my views on the difficulties with same-sex marriage as
law, and I stand by them. Too many people will abuse the law because it
deals with taboos and norms which dumb people feel obligated to violate.
Perhaps you care to deal with what I actually believe?

Oh please, the legal application of same sex marriage isn't any iota
different than hetero marriage. Property sharing laws, custody laws -
how do these differ between a same sex marriage and a hetero marriage?
