Their answer depends on where they live.  I've lived in Moorestown, NJ
and Naperville, IL - two of the best public school systems in the
nation, and I'd send my kids there in a heartbeat.  Unfortunately, there
are far more places with understaffed, underpaid and generally
unimpressive public school systems where private school would be a
better option, especially in terms of college-prep courses and requisite
AP courses and extracurricular activities to help land scholarships.
