Just so happens CNN had an article regarding this yesterday:

In it they describe that yes there maybe mass layoffs, cutting back on
perks, bonuses, high pay rates and some weeding out of less-expierenced
individuals in the IT industry from companies. However I'm not too convinced
this will be any more than just a hassle for the regular IT worker to find a
position else were. At first this thread had me worried as I'm sure most of
you that had responded were at the very least a bit concerned if only the
possibility of having to leave a current position. But from what I gather
and from the last few years I'm not sure if the supply will meet the huge
demand needed in today's market to fill all positions needed.
