I checked out the ecertifications site mentioned below. Aside from the
spelling errors, and general inconsistency (Web Distributed Data Exchange ==
WDDE, as opposed to WDDX), it looks ok. Despite what it says about being CF
4.1, it is really geared toward CF 4.5. I took the sample test, and was a
bit disappointed at my overall results. But then again, I am still using
4.0.1. I think the Allaire program may work out, especially with the
proctored exams. One thing I can say for sure, is that a programmer who
tries to program from memory is going to get in trouble. In college, my
COBOL professor had open book tests, because he wanted programmers to learn
how to use the reference materials to solve a problem, instead of relying on
imperfect memories. I work with the quick reference guide and language
reference guides on my desk at all times. Because after 15 years in the
computer industry and programming in everything from dBASE to Java, I can't
remember the syntax of every function or tag, anymore.
