I love Coldfusion and don't plan on moving away from it. But I'd like to see what all the fuss is about Ruby, and specifically Ruby on Rails.
Does anyone have a good comparison of the two? I don't currently use any named frameworks, but I have developed a way of coding that seems to work for me. So I understand that this will be a little tougher than just a "is x better than y" question. Anyway, if anyone has input on this topic, I'd love to hear it. I tried getting RoR running on my local dev machine and was immediately turned off by the fact that you have to do so much work using the command prompt. Have the RoR developers never heard of a web browser? <!----------------//------ andy matthews web developer ICGLink, Inc.
