I would have to concur with the basic idea of this assessment. Vivio Technologies is *very* interested in Rapid Application Development (RAD) and exploring different ways to get the same thing done quickly, and in our own short assessment of RoR there are some simple things that can be done extremely fast and easy. It's just coming up with all the basics first that are the real problem. ColdFusion is great because it allows you to do very custom jobs very quickly. I should note, however, that we are still evaluating RoR, and it should be something that anyone interested in RAD should keep a very close eye on. There is a lot of potential there.
