Guess that got me informed,Larry.<G> But to be fair,either set-up would require rewiring(the Gear Vendors is electric,too)and both driveshafts would require shortening. I really didn't realize 4L80 set-ups were so danged expensive. No wonder,no one is running one.

last year i looked into the 4l80e (i have one in my 98 GMC 3500 7.4) . by the time i got done it was over $4000.00, the floor needed to be modified, drive shaft redone, cross member moved, all kinds of wiring, the torque convertors are very limited, it weighs 100 lbs more than a th400 and you lose 50 more HP. the ring gear wasn't a suggestion, i said it could have been there if someone had changed the gears from 3 series. if it had had the spacer he wouldn't need it going down to 3 series. that is how i came up with the th 400 and Gear Vendor OD.
