I
thought the 700-R4 was based off the TH400 and not the TH350? There are
quite a few 9 and 10 second Buick GN/T-type, etc that run modified 200-4Rs and
Art Carr has one for $1599 with a 12" converter that'll handle 700hp. For
heavier cars they do recommend the 700-R4 - http://www.artcarr.com/faq.html#faq8
