I don't know,Larry. How much torque does it take to accelerate a 3800lb Buick GN to mid-9's at 135mph? I'm sure it takes a bunch. Besides,it will be at least a year or more before I can put a mondo cubic inch BBC together. Whenever I build a car,I always start with the foundation and work up. Right now,my little 355" will get easily 15-16mpg on the road with 4.10 gears and 29" bias ply tires. The new rear 345/55/17 radial tires are 31"+ tall and when combined with some type of OD tranny,the car should be able to knock down around 20mpg. I could sure live with that for awhile.
