Yep you are right no human in their right mind should EVER eat raw or even undercooked meat.  That is very true..  for humans.  Our dogs have a totally different digestive system that can handle eating all sorts of gross things.  They chew on what ever they can get ahold of and never get sick.  They will eat cat crap for pete sakes!!  I wonder what kind of bacteria lurks in that!! do they get sick? nope! I did my research and I am not trying to convince anyone to switch I just wanted to offer what I do and works for me.  I am glad commercial dog food works for you.  I am glad raw works for me.  I do not believe grains and corn are necessary for our dogs.  So I switched.

All my own opinion of course.

That meat is exactly what goes into your dog food.  More dogs die every day from contaminated dog food then what will EVER die from raw.  I suggest doing a research before posting.  I did and switched to raw and boy am I happy.  I feed a huge group and they do just fine.  Everyone of them are gorgeous, heatlhy, and happy.  I just suggest instead of asking people who are uneducated in the nutrition department about it.  Think about our lions in the wild and our wild dogs today.  They eat dead animals that have been rotting in the sun for days and are just fine.  We also do not feed our captured wild animals a diet we process.  They get what they do in the wild.  If our dogs could talk I think you would all be surprised at what they want.  They have to settle for what we feed them or die.  Even the best dog food has had their bouts with contamination usually during processing and what they throw into the mixture.  Even corn has been contaminated and thrown in to our dog foods.

I just suggest getting some books, getting on some yahoo groups that do feed raw and talking to people who have researched both options.  My opinion  GO RAW
MY God, are you misinformed! My husband works as a hospital dietary specialist and cited for me a long list of all the bacteria, microbes and, contaminents in raw meat. These include Salmonella, Bochelinus, the Mad Cow bacteria, rodent hair and feces, as well as animal urine and feces. If, during processing, an animal carcass falls to the floor in a meat processing plant, it lands in a muck of, entrails, urine and feces. Do they take the time to clean this carcas after it's retrieved from the filth on the floor? You've got to be kidding! Time is money, and they don't waste time cleaning that filth from the retrieved carcass! My late father-in-law worked at the Amour Packing  plant in Pittsburgh. He told me they used to clean a carcass that hit the floor with DETERGENT (Tide, to be precise)! But that was before big business took over the industry. Now, the rule is process it as quickly as possible to make the easiest profit. You go right ahead feeding raw to your dogs. I'll pray for them.

I DON'T advocate processed pet food. I COOK meals for my Chis., They get chicken, vegetables (no corn or wheat), fruits and rice. Raw meat is loaded with artery-clogging fat. I BOIL the chicken that I feed my dogs, and drain thoroughly. 90 % of the fat is discarded with the water. My vet agrees that this is the best way to feed pets. My rule is; If I can't eat it, neither can my dogs. I've been breeding and raising dogs since I was 14. All of my dogs live well past what is considered a normal life span..

Did you check out any of those web sites I posted? I WOULD consider the Humane society Of The United States a reputable organization. If you want more information check with your local Health Department of the Center For Disease control (CDC). They'll set you straight.
