That is why I asked. It really is not a good dog food and if the issues were caused by allergies corn is at the top of the list. Even though my vet is a RAW feeder his office still pushes Science diet which I told him should be renamed to Science Death LOL

My little Cooper has seizures also and yes, it's so scary and just breaks your heart to watch them go through this. It's puzzling why the vet recommended Science Diet - I think the first ingredient listed on the bag is corn! But the vet offices I've been in all stock and display Science Diet! Are they getting a cut? I hate to think that way, and these doctors know more than we do. But still... I was at the vet by 11:30. He is convinced it is a liver shunt but wants to do a bile acid test to make sure. Poor boy has done nothing but sleep since his second seizure. He just lays there and looks pitiful. I have been trying to get him to drink a little... he is not interested in food or water. I put a little gatorade in his water and he will take a few sips when I put it in front of his face, but he hasn't gotten up on his own since we got home and he got into his bed. He hasn't eaten anything all day. He took a few bites last night before his first seizure, but nothing since. I have been forcing nutrical a little just to keep his sugar up, but his blood tests said his sugar was fine. He had elevated liver enzyme ALK and his electrolytes were all low. They want him on science diet L/D and lactulose and an antibiotic until I can get the bile acid test done. He hasn't had any more seizures yet today, and I am praying that this was just an isolated incident and he does not have a liver shunt. Poor thing is just exhausted. He is also acting like he is having trouble swallowing a little. the vet did say he noticed a narrowing of the trachea, but he never had any trouble with it before...I am wondering if it could be swollen from the vomiting and the seizure? Please say a prayer for my little guy. I hope everything goes ok...it has been a tough day. Well about 15 minutes ago hehad a seizure. It scared the daylights out of me. He is sleeping peacefully and I am still shaking. He is 10 months old today and has never had a seizure before. Anyone have any experience with this? "Whether or not it is clear to you, the world is unfolding as it should." -Desiderata Christy Sylvest [email protected]
